Lakeview Outdoor Oasis
Our primary focus for this project was to utilize a second lot adjacent to the family’s home to create an outdoor entertainment destination. Features like an outdoor kitchen allow the family to grill and entertain at night, along with a large fire pit and seat bench that can accommodate a crowd. A dining area is separated from a sport court play area by a wooden wall of plants.
Main Objectives
- Create multiple spaces for family fun and entertainment on city side lot
- Looking for dining space, firepit area, basketball court, open play space, outdoor kitchen and TV
- Incorporate covered breezeway to connect house to garage
Solutions
- Needed to be as efficient as possible with space to fit all objectives in and still maintain open play space
- Covered kitchen area was built as a step up to allow for bar seating on the outside
- TV was mounted under covered kitchen area for protection and allow for viewing from the bar
- Kitchen incorporated grill, warming drawer, refrigerator, cocktail sink and custom storage cabinets
- Rustic and contemporary elements were combined, including bluestone patios and countertops contrasting nicely with American granite veneered walls and wood beams
- Basketball court at the rear has full retractable gate to allow for occasional overflow parking and custom screen to divide from entertaining space
- Gas firepit in the larger entertaining space is surrounded by large ipe bench and raised planters to complement bar stone
