About Our Company
Kemora Landscapes has been a landscape designer in the Chicagoland area for over 20 years. Since Chicago and the surrounding area have such a wide variety of landscape spaces, our team in turn offers experience and competency in a variety of areas beyond basic patios and plants. These include outdoor kitchens, native plantings, rain gardens, fire features, rooftops, drainage solutions, synthetic turf, driveways and pool decks. We strive to help make your outdoor space a creative and natural extension of your indoor spaces.

our team
Since 2002, Kemora has grown through the help of our excellent client base. Currently, we have a team of eleven skilled office staff. Our staff includes:
- Three Landscape Designers, one Landscape Architect, an Architect, and an Intern who consult with clients in the field, as well as producing designs and estimates;
- An Office Manager who oversees daily office operations and answers inquiries from new and existing customers;
- A Project Manager who oversees the quality of our Construction crews out in the field;
- A Maintenance Manager who oversees the quality of our Maintenance team operations;
- An Operations Coordinator who works on scheduling and procurement of all of our job materials so your job is ready to go on your scheduled date;
- An Annual Planting Designer who leads a specialty planting crew;
- A Carpentry department that fabricates custom built designs;
- Four in-house installation teams who primarily work in the field on specialties like patios, plantings, and other construction projects;
- And three maintenance teams who provide regular lawn and yard care throughout the growing season.
We do our best to provide a seamless client experience, while servicing all of your property’s unique needs.
Who is Kemora?
Kemora Landscapes is a small, family-run business started by Marisa Gora in 2002 as a one-woman landscape design operation. As a life-long Chicagoan, Marisa found joy in creating unique useable spaces out of the smaller and sometimes odd spaces available to the residences in the city. Initially she focused on design, but realized that it was hard to find a design driven service for smaller to midsize projects, as large companies with full services available focused on commercial or high end residential.
Therefore, she has built her business around helping homeowners in Chicago turn their outdoor spaces into places they can enjoy either through design or providing knowledgeable full-service maintenance. She has designed and constructed thousands of unique landscapes and has an eye for finding ways to maximize the use and functionality of any size space. More than anything takes joy in being a resource for our long-time clients to educate and assist in making the most of their outdoor spaces.
