Edgewater Update
One of our designers took an overgrown and unused space, and transformed it into multiple, useable patio spaces buffered by planting beds to fully transform the back yard of this Edgewater home. Materials such as clay brick and bluestone were chosen to complement and emphasize the historical style of the home.
Main Objectives
- Integrate two small, separated spaces between house and garage, and another at side of garage.
- Create a more classic look to blend with Victorian style house and common brick structures
- Foster sense of connection and function in both spaces
- Provide a feeling of intimacy and screen the view to the alley
Solutions
- Created bluestone patios with clay paver border and walks to create sense of connection throughout the spaces
- Built pergola in the casual seating space next to the garage to create human scale space, create intimacy and divert view away from the alley
- Added simple plantings to help soften the space while still maximizing valuable useable space for seating

“Kemora Landscapes changed our lives! They took a dismal, awkward, and seemingly hopeless space and transformed it into a private sanctuary that will provide our family years of peace and tranquility.”
